On Tuesday, Lanett Police issued a press release regarding a series of armed robberies that occurred in the City of Lanett, AL. starting on May 12th 2024.
Four total armed robberies have occurred in the City Limits of Lanett involving what is believed to be the same suspects. The targets of the robberies have specifically been members of our Hispanic community. The suspects appear to be young black males between the ages 16 and 25.
The suspects are armed with various firearms at the times of the robberies.
Investigators believe that more suspects may be involved.
Arrest Made
On 06/11/2024 Officers of the Lanett Police Department executed a search and arrest warrant on a juvenile black male in relation to this case. Due to the use of a firearm in this felony robbery the juvenile is charged as an adult.
Later that afternoon, just before 6 pm EST., A second arrest was made in relation to the string of robberies targeting persons of Hispanic origin. This latest arrest is of another African American male juvenile.
He is charged as an adult with three counts of Robbery 1st Degree.
