Post: Donnie Lolley Obituary

Donnie Lolley, affectionately known simply as “Donnie” to his friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully at his residence in Valley, Alabama, on August 2, 2024. Born on July 19, 1946, in Columbus, Georgia, he was a beacon of kindness and friendliness in the lives he touched.

Donnie is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Tracey Lolley; children, Diane Dozier and Brent Lolley, who blessed him with three beloved grandchildren and one cherished great-grandchild. In addition to his immediate family, Donnie leaves behind a devoted sister, Tammy Montgomery (Bob), and a brother, Mark Lolley (Amy). His extended family also includes a caring brother-in-law, Richard Caravana, and he was fond of his special friends, Dusty Rivera, Butch Kilgore, and Jeff Trenter, and Billy Barnes who added joy and companionship to his life’s journey. His fur babies, Poppy, Daisy, Candy, and Katie, brought daily smiles and comfort.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Lolley and Forrest and Doris Selvester; his son, Jim Lolley; his sisters, Sandra Caravana, Kathy Randazzo, and Carol Selvester; and brother-in-law, Ricky Simmons.

Donnie’s early years were rooted in academics, marked by his graduation from Auburn University. His career at CSI Industrial in Greenville, South Carolina, reflected his dedication and work ethic, from which he later retired, leaving behind a legacy of professional integrity and respect.

Passionate about golf, Donnie was a regular on the course with the Lolley golf group, where his thoughtful nature made him a favored player and companion. But beyond the fairways, what truly defined Donnie were the words kind, friendly, and thoughtful.

His memory is treasured by his surviving family, and his legacy of love and joy is sure to endure. As we bid farewell to Donnie Lolley, we reflect on a life well-lived and a spirit that will forever be remembered fondly.

Donnie’s family will receive friends Monday evening, August 5th, 2024, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM (EDT) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley. Private graveside services for Donnie will be held on Tuesday, August 6th, 2024.

In lieu of flowers, Donnie requests that donations be made to the Chattahoochee Humane Society in his memory, 3265 Fairfax Bypass, Valley, Alabama, 36854, www.chatthumanesociety.org/donate in his memory.

Donnie wanted to express a special thank you to Jason Jernigan, Rechea Jernigan, Tammy & Bob Montgomery, and Jeff and Kathy Trenter for the love and support they provided.
