Valley Police Chief Mike Reynolds issued a press release regarding weekend incidents, where on Sunday June 9th, of shots being fired into residences.<\/span><\/p>\n

The first incident occurred between 1:00 AM and 1:30 AM in the 2200 block of US Highway 29. The homeowner, a 49-year-old female, was awoken when she was shot on the right side. Her 15-year-old son was also in the residence at the time but was unhurt. She was transported to EAMC Lanier <\/span><\/a><\/span>and then later to Piedmont in Columbus. Her condition is currently unknown. Officers located numerous shell casings in front of the residence.<\/span><\/p>\n

The second incident occurred in the 100 block of Bennett Street between 2:00 AM and 5:45 AM. The unoccupied home was struck by several bullets.<\/span><\/p>\n

There were no witnesses to these incidents and no description of the attackers or any vehicles were given.<\/span><\/p>\n
