On Friday, the community made their way to the Langdale Farmers Market for Free <\/span>Tomato Sandwich Day, a long-standing tradition in Valley.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“<\/span>This started about 30 years ago with Evan Mason at Mason’s Produce in Langdale and we would run it all day. Back then, Mason was growing tomatoes, had a tomato field, and came up with the idea of a Tomato Sandwich Day. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

When he passed away we moved it here to keep the tradition going. We continue the <\/span>free Tomato Sandwich Day and I wish we could name this place after him”, said longtime supporter Ray Edwards. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The crowd was steady as the community purchased fruits and vegetables from local farmers and vendors.<\/span><\/p>\n
