On 10\/24\/2024, at approximately 5:18 p.m., Opelika Dispatch received several calls regarding a vehicle crash involving an 18-wheeler and a passenger car on Interstate 85 North between Exit 57 and 58. Responding officers located a passenger car in a ditch with four occupants. A 19-year-old passenger was transported to East Alabama Medical Center by ambulance where he succumbed to his injuries. The other three occupants of the car were later transported to the hospital with <\/a><\/span>minor injuries. The two occupants of the 18-wheeler were unharmed.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
